FRONT INDICATORS/SIDE LIGHT EARTH

Sunbeam Alpine Lamp

When refitting the front indicators lamps after restoring my Alpine I realized that they earth through the fixing screws, not wishing to scrape off my new paint I decided to add an additional earth lead.

Repairing Indicator Lamp
This was done by pushing the cable of the indicator bulb through the rubber boot, this pushed the center terminal and insulator clear of the metal cap, I then attached a new black earth cable to the spring by twisting and soldering.
I then pushed this new cable though the rubber boot and followed the wiring loom to the spare connector on the headlamp earth point under the bonnet, finishing off by soldering a bullet connector to the new earth cable and pushing it into the spare headlamp earth point connector.
