HOW TO RELEASE AN ELECTRIC HANDBRAKE

More brake help

More and more vehicles are being fitted with electric/automatic handbrakes. If you have a problem with the handbrake or the electrics and can't release the handbrake you will need to use the emergency release, this will normally be in the boot (see picture) or in the center console.
Unclip the Release “T” handle from its resting place on the floor of the vehicle.
Pull the “T” handle upwards until a noise is heard.

WARNING

Be sure to either get somebody to put their foot on the brake or chock the road wheels before using the emergency release to prevent the vehicle rolling away when you pull the release.
