CAN’T SELECT GEARS? GEAR LEVER LOOSE?
Most modern gear linkages are made up of rods or cables with ball joints on the ends. These ball joints wear and come disconnected, this makes gear selection impossible and the gear lever floppy. As a temporary repair you can normally reconnect the joint and cable tie together using two cable ties, see picture.
