BRAKE WARNING LIGHT

Brake warning light BRAKE WARNING LIGHT

Could indicate low brake fluid level, do not drive the car. Check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary. If very low check for leaks behind road wheels etc (see picture of leaking wheel cylinder) and have brakes check ASAP brake pads could be worn out. Note may also warn of handbrake on, check switch on handbrake lever.

HOW TO CHECK BRAKE FLUID

Brake fluid should be on the MAX mark on see-through reservoir, the cap will be marked with the correct fluid, DOT4 etc, see picture.

Rear of road wheel be wet with brake fluid, brake pedal may go to floor.
